On the occasion of Christmas, the Fortress of Bard (Italy) chose to illuminate its inner courtyard with 360° immersive video mapping. PROIETTA was responsible for the technical installation and developed the artistic content of the project. The theme of the mountain and nature was developed in a fantastic key with evocative landscapes and “sparkling” animals. It was an engaging show that entertained visitors to the fortress, also known for its cultural offerings based on prestigious exhibitions and events. The video projectors were installed outdoors for approximately one month within PROIETTA’s air-conditioned shells to protect them from cold temperatures and inclement weather.
360° immersive projections are used in many fields, such as entertainment, education, training, advertising, and medicine. In entertainment, for example, 360° immersive projections can be used to create immersive films and games. In education, this technology can be used to create interactive simulations for learning. In medicine, 360° immersive projections can be used for surgical training and medical image analysis.
To create a 360° immersive experience, a combination of projectors, screens, and surround sound is necessary. The projectors must be positioned to cover the entire environment. Additionally, surround sound must be synchronized with the image to create an even more realistic immersive experience.
It is expected that this technology will be increasingly used to create immersive experiences in various fields, such as entertainment, education, training, advertising, and medicine.
